Extending Independent Nurse Prescribing within NHSScotland
URGENT DISPENSING
Occasionally a nurse prescription may require dispensing out of normal pharmacy opening hours. The prescription form should be endorsed by the prescriber with the word 'Urgent'. A pharmacist may claim an additional fee for dispensing a prescription urgently. Arrangements for dispensing out of normal hours vary, but details may be available at local pharmacies, NHS 24 or police stations.
