Antimicrobial Resistance Strategy and Scottish Action Plan

Taking the Work Forward

The Scottish Action Plan will be implemented by the relevant Departments within the Executive. Milestones are being developed by which progress will be monitored by the Scottish Executive Steering Group. Other organisations involved are expected to develop action plans covering their own contributions to the overall Strategy.

The Scottish Executive is represented on the UK Interdepartmental Steering Group which will oversee and co-ordinate UK-wide work on AMR.

The current Strategy does not include specific, measurable, targets for antimicrobial resistance or disease due to resistant organisms. Identification of suitable targets requires considerable further developmental work, but should form part of future phases of this Strategy.
