Sheep Annual Premium Scheme Quotas - Explanatory Guide
ANNEX 2 THE REQUIREMENT TO SUBMIT AN IACS DECLARATION
If you wish to claim the Less-Favoured Area (LFA) supplement of the Sheep Annual Premium (SAP) Scheme you must submit an IACS declaration. The IACS declaration must be submitted to your local area office on or before 15 May each year and further details about the completion of the declaration can be obtained from the IACS Section at the local area office.
Thus if you want to receive premium, you must acquire appropriate sheep quota and submit the premium claim form during the respective application period. Producers in the LFA wishing to receive the LFA supplement must also ensure they submit an IACS declaration for the scheme year in which they wish to claim premium. If they do not submit an IACS declaration then, regardless of the number of animals they claim or the number of quota units they hold, they will not receive any LFA supplement to the SAP payments.
In general, the only producers who do not need to submit an IACS declaration are those whose holding is designated as GB lowland and who claim only under the Sheep Annual Premium Scheme for the GB lowland rate of premium payments.
