Sheep Annual Premium Scheme Quotas - Explanatory Guide
INTRODUCTION
Since the 1993 scheme year, Sheep Annual Premium (SAP) payments have been limited to the quota units held by individual producers. Most producers received an initial allocation of quota based on the number of eligible sheep on which they received premium payments in 1991, provided that they also applied for premium in 1992. Other producers may have received quota from the national reserve or acquired it by transfer or lease. Although most producers are now familiar with the various rules governing the quota regime, this booklet (the 3rd edition) brings together the rules governing the operation of sheep quotas including the various changes which have been introduced since the production of the previous guide in 1998.
If having read this booklet you are still unsure of your position regarding the rules and regulations relating to quota, you should contact the QMS using the contact names and address given at Annex 3. Quota queries should not be addressed to local area office staff.
| Your quota is an important asset: please read this guide carefully to ensure you fully understand how to make best use of it. |
