THE DESIGNATION OF STRUCTURE PLAN AREAS
(SCOTLAND) ORDER 1995
1. This Circular draws attention to the Designation of
Structure Plan Areas (Scotland) Order 1995 which comes into
force on 1 April 1996. Copies of the Order are enclosed for
Chief Executives only. Further copies may be purchased from
Her Majesty's Stationery Office.
2. This Order formally designates the structure plan
areas which were announced by the Scottish Planning
Minister, Mr Kynoch, on 6 September. The structure plan
areas and the authorities whose districts they cover are
listed in the Schedule to the Order. The purpose of the
names set out in Column 1 of the Schedule is simply the
identification of the areas. There is nothing in the Order
to prohibit authorities giving their structure plan area a
different name from that shown in Column 1 of the
Schedule.
3. A map showing the structure plan areas is attached to
this Circular.
