Reappointment of NHS board member

Cabinet Secretary for Health, Wellbeing and Cities Strategy, Nicola Sturgeon, today announced the reappointment of a Member to National Services Scotland NHS Board.

The member is:

Mr John White - Director of Technology Integration at the Royal Bank of Scotland Group. His previous experience includes 3 years as Director of Group Technology at RBS and many years experience with IBM where he worked in both IT and Manufacturing management positions across Scotland, France, and United States. He is a Fellow of the British Computing Society and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers Scotland. He does not hold any other ministerial appointments.

This reappointment will be for three months and will run from August 1, 2012 to October 31, 2012.

This post is part-time and attracts a remuneration of £8,008 for a time commitment of eight hours per week. 

NHS National Services Scotland provides a diverse range of strategic services to ensure frontline patient care is delivered effectively across Scotland.

This reappointment is regulated by the Public Appointments Commissioner for Scotland.

All appointments are made on merit and political activity plays no part in the selection process.  However, in accordance with the original Nolan recommendations, there is a requirement for appointees’ political activity within the last five years (if there is any to be declared) to be made public.  John White has had no political activity in the last five years.
