UK Government urged to take action
Veterans Minister, Keith Brown today called for the UK government to waste no time in issuing medals to Arctic Convoy veterans.
"I welcome the fact that the Prime Minister is now supporting calls for a new review to award a medal to Arctic Convoy veterans.
"I have pressed the UK Government a number of times to honour their promise to provide a campaign medal for these brave men.
"Andrew Robathan, the Minister for Defence Personnel, Welfare and Veterans should waste no time in agreeing to issue the medals to these deserving heroes.
"It is absolutely vital that the bravery and courage of all those who participated in the convoys during the Second World War are not forgotten. I look forward to a positive outcome in due course."
