Sir Angus Grossart has been reappointed Chairman of the Scottish Futures Trust (SFT), the body set up by Ministers to deliver increased value for money in infrastructure projects.
The Scottish Government has confirmed that Sir Angus and SFT's four Non-Executive Directors - Graeme Bissett, Fiona Mackenzie, Colin Maclean and Councillor Jim Fletcher - will also remain in their posts until the end of June 2010.
Finance Secretary John Swinney said:
"I am delighted that Sir Angus and his fellow board members will continue making their significant contribution to the development of SFT, working with Chief Executive Barry White and his colleagues.
"In 2009-10 SFT is supporting 13 specific projects valued at over £3.5 billion, including major investment activity such as the hub programme and improving the schools estate.
"Sir Angus and his team are well placed to ensure SFT plays an important role in delivering greater value for money for the public purse in capital investment."
Once the relevant legislation comes into effect and SFT becomes a regulated body later this year, appointments will be opened up to the normal competitive processes for filling such public posts, subject to the Code produced by the Commissioner for Public Appointments in Scotland.
A new SFT board will be appointed from July 1, 2010.
