Childern Educated Outwith School and Pupil Projections 2008

Scotland's Chief Statistician today published a range of statistics relating to pupils in and outwith Scotland's schools. The publication includes statistics on children educated outwith school and pupil numbers and projected numbers for future years.
The main findings are:
- There were 932 pupils educated outwith school due to health or other issues and 756 known to be educated outwith school due to parental choice.
- The total number of pupils receiving publicly funded school education is projected to decrease steadily from 692,000 in 2007 to 658,000 in 2014, then rise until peaking at 675,000 in 2022.
