Scottish Winter Fair

Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs and the Environment Richard Lochhead attended the Scottish Winter Fair today at Ingliston.

One of the premier seasonal event's of the agricultural year will feature livestock judging (cattle and sheep), alongside butchery and catering demonstrations and trade stands.

Mr Lochhead said:

"Today's Winter Fair marks a significant step forward for Scotland's livestock industry, as the first major show to feature livestock since the movement ban was lifted.

"I was pleased to see the good heart and spirits amongst the farmers here today, particularly young farmers. From prize winning bullocks to the top quality lambs, Scotland's premium livestock was out in full force."
