Sixteen Local Management Committees were today invited by Glasgow Housing Association Board to proceed to the next stage of Second Stage Transfer.
Stewart Maxwell, Minister for Communities and Sport, said:
"I welcome the fact that 16 Local Housing Organisations are able to move forward to the next stage of the SST process. It's a positive step in the right direction. I have been clear that I want to see progress where that can be sensibly achieved.
"And I hope GHA and those LHOs who are not able to move forward right away, will work swiftly to take forward their proposals for the future of the stock.
"Where SST is unlikely to be achieved in the short term, I still expect GHA to look at how it can deliver the genuine control and empowerment that tenants want."
