North East road improvements completed
12/02/2007
The A90 at Hatton Bends has been officially reopened following the completion of a major £5.5 million package of improvements.
The work has replaced a series of potentially dangerous bends with a straight section of road. The work has also improved two junctions at Hardslack Road and Bridgend, and replaced Midmill Bridge.
Transport Minister Tavish Scott said:
"I am delighted today we are able to deliver these vital improvements to the local communities who have campaigned for many years.
"The A90 is a key route for both business, commuters and local people and the completion of this scheme will improve safety and reduce journey times for all who use it.
"We are commited to making improvements to roads across the North East. To ensure our roads network is fit for the 21st century, we are committed to delivering a safe, efficient network, free from congestion."
