Health Minister Andy Kerr today announced the re-appointment of Mrs Geraldine Strickland as a Member of Borders NHS Board.
Geraldine Strickland has over twenty years experience of the voluntary sector. Her career as a community development worker includes distinguished work in the field of mental health. Mrs Strickland has considerable skills in strategic multi agency partnership working, and also participates in many cross sector committees and working groups. She has worked across the Borders region, and for the last four years has been supporting Hawick community projects, participating as part of the Hawick multi agency regeneration partnership on behalf of the local CVS: Roxburgh Association of Voluntary Service. Mrs Strickland does not hold any other Ministerial appointments.
Mrs Strickland's re-appointment will be for a period of two years from April 1, 2007 to March 31, 2009.
This post is part time with a time commitment of eight hours per week for which the annual remuneration is £7,490.
This Ministerial appointment was made in accordance with Commissioner for Public Appointments in Scotland (OCPAS) Code of Practice.
All appointments are made on merit and political activity plays no part in the selection process. However, in accordance with the original Nolan recommendations, there is a requirement for appointees' political activity (if any declared) to be made public. Within the last five years, Mrs Strickland has not been involved in any political activity.
