Chief Dental Officer retires

The Chief Dental Officer, Ray Watkins, has announced his intention to return to NHS Scotland and develop his professional role there.
Head of the Scottish Executive Health Department, Dr Kevin Woods said:
"Having been with the Health Department for 10 years, and played a key role in the development of the dental action plan, the Chief Dental Officer has decided the time is right for him to return to NHS Scotland where he will develop his existing role with NHS Education Scotland (NES), and continue to contribute to health services in Scotland.
"Ray Watkins will continue to play a valuable role in delivering the dental action plan for Scotland.
"We have been very grateful for his professional advice and support while in this post and wish him every success in the future."
The post of Chief Dental Officer will be advertised shortly. Mr Watkins will remain in post until his successor is in place.
