The report has four main parts:
THE SCOTTISH ECONOMY: RECENT DEVELOPMENTS AND FUTURE PROSPECTS
The first part - The Scottish Economy: Recent Developments and Future Prospects - provides an overview of the Scottish economy. This chapter examines recent and current performance of GDP and the labour market at the aggregate and sectoral level, as well as a discussion around future prospects
GLOBAL, EUROPEAN AND UK ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENTS
Chapter 2: Global, European and UK Economic Developments demonstrates the linkages between Scotland and the wider economic environment. The chapter provides a synopsis of economic developments in the United Kingdom, European, and global economies.
THE FRAMEWORK FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN SCOTLAND
This chapter provides a summary of the Executive's response to the recent Business Growth Inquiry, carried out by the Enterprise and Culture Committee of the Scottish Parliament. In addition, the chapter sets out the Executive's new Sustainable Development Strategy. The chapter also makes the link between these two areas and the priorities of the Framework for Economic Development in Scotland.
SELECTED ECONOMIC ISSUES
