Kevin Woods, Head of the Executive's Health Department, today praised the work and professionalism of Deputy Chief Dental Officer Mary McCann, as she announced her intention to return to general dental practice.
Mr Woods said:
"Having played an important role in the development and delivery of the first year of the dental action plan, the Deputy Chief Dental Officer Mary McCann, has decided the time is right for her to return to general practice and to pursue other professional opportunities.
"We have been very grateful for the DCDO's professional advice and support while in this post and wish her every success in the future."
Arrangements are being made to maintain appropriate professional advice for Ministers when Ms McCann leaves.
