Health Minister Andy Kerr today announced the re-appointment of Mrs Jennifer Croall as a Member of Borders NHS Board.

Mrs Jennifer Croall is a physiotherapist who has worked within both the public and private sectors for the last 35 years. She is also Chairman of the Friends of the Borders General Hospital. She was previously a non-executive Director and latterly Chairman of Borders General Hospital Acute Trust. She has been a member of Borders NHS Board since 2003. She does not hold any other ministerial appointments.

Mrs Croall's re-appointment will be for a period of four years from April 1, 2006 to March 31, 2010.

This post is part time with a time commitment of eight hours per week for which the annual remuneration is £7,490.

Borders NHS Board is responsible for the strategic planning of health services and the development of measures to improve the health of the community in the Borders region.

Ministerial appointments are made in accordance with Commissioner for Public Appointments in Scotland (OCPAS) Code of Practice.

All appointments are made on merit and political activity plays no part in the selection process. However, in accordance with the original Nolan recommendations, there is a requirement for appointees' political activity (if any declared) to be made public. Within the last five years, Mrs Croall has not been involved in any political activity.
