Scottish Economic Statistics 2005

The annual publication Scottish Economic Statistics is published today. This compendium brings together data on the Scottish economy from a wide range of sources.
Scottish Economic Statistics 2005 provides a comprehensive range of official information on the Scottish economy. There are six chapters containing tables and commentary on: economic accounts; enterprise; industry sectors; the labour market; households; and, the public sector. These chapters contain a wealth of information relating to Scotland within their 72 tables and 36 charts and maps.
In addition, Scottish Economic Statistics contains four articles discussing issues related to statistics on the Scottish economy. These articles provide: (i) an update on the Scottish Executive approach to implementing the Atkinson Review of measurement of Government output; (ii) an analysis of data from the Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings; (iii) discussion of issues involved with the estimation of Scottish trade; and (iv) analysis of data on foreign-owned companies in Scotland.
