New District Procurator Fiscal for Falkirk

24/10/2005

Kenny Donnelly, most recently the District Procurator Fiscal at Kilmarnock, has been appointed as the District Procurator Fiscal for Falkirk. He takes up his new post on Monday 24 October 2005.

Mr Donnelly takes over from Neil Bowie, who has been the interim Procurator Fiscal at Falkirk since April 2005, following Mike Bell's transfer to the role of Head of the High Court Unit at the Crown Office.

Geraldine Watt, Area Procurator Fiscal for Central Scotland, said:

"Kenny is an able and respected prosecutor; we are delighted to welcome him to Central Scotland and to the Falkirk office. He will head a highly committed team of legal and support staff in Falkirk and together they will work with local criminal justice partners to tackle crime, and improve the service that the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service provides to local communities."

Kenny Donnelly added:

"I am delighted to be taking up this new post and to have the opportunity to serve the people of Falkirk. I feel fortunate to be heading up a team that is dedicated to delivering an efficient, effective prosecution service. I know that my predecessors have established strong working relationships with criminal justice partner agencies, and I look forward to building on these to ensure that we continue to deliver the modern prosecution service expected by communities throughout Falkirk."
