Update on NHS Board annual reviews
19/08/2005
- NHS Borders Annual Review, which was due to take
place on August 23, 2005 has been rescheduled for
October 10, 2005.
- NHS Argyll & Clyde Annual Review, which was due
to take place on September 13, 2005 has been
cancelled.
Health Minister Andy Kerr said:
"Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances the
annual review for NHS Borders has had to be postponed until
Monday October 10, 2005.
"I have also taken the decision to cancel the annual
review for NHS Argyll & Clyde. The clear priority for
the Board in the lead-up to their dissolution is to manage
ongoing service improvements while ensuring the stability
of other patient services. I do not feel it would be
beneficial to divert the Board's attention from that at
this time.
"I recognise however that progress has been made by the
Board during the review year 2004/05 and I want to formally
acknowledge and record where that progress has been
made.
"I have therefore asked the Board to submit a written
assessment to cover the key areas covered by the annual
review guidance. This will be subject to scrutiny by myself
and the department and I will respond to the Board, in
writing, in due course."
