FM condemns Spanish bombing

First Minister Jack McConnell has condemned this
morning's bombing in Madrid which is reported to have
resulted in the deaths of more than 170 people.
Speaking in the Parliament at First Minister's Question
Time Mr McConnell said:
"I think the whole Parliament will join with me in
expressing our utter condemnation, our anger and our
disgust at this despicable act from whatever group is
responsible.
"I spoke with the Consul-General of Spain this morning.
I've expressed our anger and disgust but also our sympathy
and our condolences for the victims, for the families and
for the people of Spain who managed in 30 years to go from
Fascism to Democracy and who do not deserve this kind of
mindless terrorism."
