New district fiscal at Oban

The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service today announced the appointment of Clifford Most has been appointed as district fiscal for Oban. He will take up his post in the New Year.

Mr Most will hold a commission for Oban sheriff court district and will act as the personal representative of the Lord Advocate on a day-to-day basis. He will be responsible for the investigation and prosecution of crime and the investigation of sudden, suspicious and unexplained deaths in Oban.

He will work closely with Argyll andClydearea procurator fiscal, John Miller, who has full management and budgetary responsibility for the Argyll andClydearea.

John Miller said:

"I am delighted to announce Clifford's addition to the team at the Oban office. Along with the dedicated and professional staff there, he will work closely with local criminal justice partners to tackle crime and improve the service that the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service providesto local communities."

Mr Most studied atEdinburghandStrathclydeUniversitiesand joined the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service in 1990. Since joining the department he has worked in theHamiltonandPaisleyoffices. Most recently he worked as a Procurator Fiscal Depute at theGreenockoffice.

He is married with two young children.
