Fishing Decommissioning Scheme

The Executive has announced an extension to 30 September
2003 of the deadline by which applicants to the fishing
vessel decommissioning scheme can claim an advance payment
of decommissioning grant. They can claim 50% if they
surrender their fishing licence(s) and cease fishing.
The balance of grant is payable on the decommissioning
of the vessel.
If applicants do not go on to decommission their vessel
this advance will be recovered with interest.
