Edinburgh and Glasgow join forces

The Lord Provosts of Glasgow and Edinburgh today met
with Tourism and Culture Minister Frank McAveety to look at
ways the cities and the Executive can work more closely
together.
"I was delighted at the commitment and energy shown by
Liz Cameron and Lesley Hinds to make a reality of closer
working between the two cities.
"The Executive and its agencies are equally committed to
ensuring that Scotland's cities are at the forefront of
making a modern and confident Scotland.
"This initiative from Edinburgh and Glasgow shows the
way in which all of Scotland's cities can work together to
their mutual benefit.
"We discussed a number of exciting possibilities for
collaborative working which would build on Glasgow and
Edinburgh's agreement to work together to secure major
events."
