Modern Apprenticeships in Aberdeen
03/07/2003
A Modern Apprenticeship award ceremony for Tullos
Training in Aberdeen was held tonight.
Deputy Minister for Enterprise and Lifelong Learning
Lewis Macdonald presented completion certificates and said
that MAs played an important role in growing the Scottish
economy.
He said :
"Modern Apprenticeships are an extremely important
strand for the Scottish Executive's strategy for the
economy and lifelong learning.
"We want Scotland to develop as a country where people's
knowledge and skills are recognised, used and developed to
the best effect in the workplace.
"It is clear from the growing numbers in training that
Modern Apprenticeships are providing relevant and
responsive training and are highly regarded by both
employers and employees.
"I fully appreciate the hard work, dedication,
commitment and challenge involved for apprentices to get to
the stage they are at tonight, and I congratulate them on
their achievements."
