Dunfermline High Court trial convictions

13/03/2003

The partnership between the prosecution and the police which resulted in the conviction of six men at Dunfermline High Court today on serious drug, violence and firearms charges was praised by the Lord Advocate, Colin Boyd QC.

David Craig was convicted of drug dealing, torture, assault and abduction; Barry Campbell was convicted of abduction and firearms offences; Paul Campbell, Thomas Irvine, Edward Lindsay and Lee Kinghan were convicted of the supply of diamorphine, diazepam and cannabis.

Sentencing has been deferred until April 3 for background reports.

Colin Boyd said:

"There has been close collaboration between the staff of the Edinburgh Procurator Fiscal office and Lothian & Borders police throughout this case.

"This is another good example of partnership working between the prosecution service and the police making a real difference to communities affected by crime".
