Stirling University played host to the Young Scottish
Lawyer's Society this week, as they heard from the
Solicitor General Elish Angiolini QC spoke about about
career opportunities in the Crown Office and Procurator
Fiscal Service (COPFS) at the Young Scottish Lawyers
Society at Stirling University this week.
She said that a career in prosecution offers unrivalled
diversity and interest.
The Solicitor General said:
" As a prosecutor you will witness all aspects of human
behaviour, both good and bad, and this is not for the
faint-hearted. However, if you want a challenging,
fascinating and adrenaline-charged career, then the Crown
Office and Procurator Fiscal Service may be the place for
you."
COPFS recruited 21 legal trainees were appointed in
August 2002, the highest number ever, and in 2003 the
service plans to recruit even more.
The speech was part of a trend towards actively
promoting the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service as
a career opportunity for promising young lawyers through
participation in similar events in schools, universities
and the community.
