Shetland NHS Board appointments
10/01/2003
The appointment of three new members of Shetland NHS
Board have been announced.
Ms Dominique Rommel takes up her position on January 13,
Mrs Ann Williamson and Mr Ian Kinniburgh on April 1. All
three appointments will be for four years.
Health Minister Malcolm Chisholm said:
"I am delighted to announce these important new
appointments. Ms Dominique Rommel, Mrs Ann Williamson and
Mr Ian Kinniburgh have already demonstrated, through the
selection process, a clear understanding of the issues
being faced within NHS Shetland, and each will bring energy
and enthusiasm to the NHS Board."
Mrs Betty Fullerton, Chair of Shetland NHS Board,
said:
"I am very pleased to welcome these new appointments.
They will each bring a breadth of knowledge and experience
which will assist the Board in carrying forward the health
agenda in NHS Shetland.
"We were fortunate to have 27 excellent applications for
the three vacancies. Interviews were conducted in Shetland
and because of the quality of applicants presented, the
Panel had a very difficult task in drawing up the final
shortlist for the Minister. I was delighted to see this
level of commitment for our NHS locally and would like to
thank everyone for the interest shown in these
opportunities.
"Due to our size and location we have a unique
opportunity in these islands to work together across all
agencies and with the public to enhance and promote health
and health services for the people of Shetland. I am
confident that these individuals will assist in that
challenge."
