Delivering for Scotland conference
28/02/2002
The Executive will work in partnership with people
working at the frontline to improve the delivery of public
services, Finance and Public Services Minister Andy Kerr
said today.
Speaking ahead of the
Delivering for Scotland conference at the SECC in
Glasgow tomorrow, the Minister continued:
"The improved delivery of top-quality public services
is our key priority. Our goal is to build on the good work
being done by those working at the frontline to deliver
public services Scotland can be proud of.
"Our priorities are the priorities of the people of
Scotland. Like us, people care deeply about the delivery of
public services and that is why it is central to all that
we do in the Executive.
"We will be at the conference to listen. It provides the
Executive with an excellent opportunity to hear the views
of people who play a key role in the delivery of our
services."
The Solicitor General for Scotland, Elish Angiolini QC,
said:
"Like every other aspect of the Executive's services,
the prosecution service in Scotland must strive to review
and evaluate what it does and how it does it to secure
constant improvements.
"The Lord Advocate and I do recognise and value the
general quality and professionalism of the work being
carried out and will provide our support while at the same
time seeking to deliver continuing improvements for a
service that meets the needs of society."
