Mr Iain MacSween has been appointed to the Board of the Sea Fish Industry Authority, the Executive announced today.

Mr MacSween is Chief Executive of the Scottish Fisherman's Organisation, the largest Producer Organisation in the UK representing approximately 30 per cent of the UK fleet, and Chairman of both Seafood Scotland and Scottish Fishermen's Harvest Ltd.

He has worked in the fisheries sector for nearly 30 years, and brings a breadth of experience to the work of the Board covering catching, processing and international markets.

Established in 1981 to promote the efficiency of the sea fish industry, the 12-member Sea Fish Industry Authority has powers to undertake research and development, advise, provide training and promote the marketing and consumption of fish.
