Non-sector catch limits for November 1999 in the North Sea (Area IV), West of Scotland (Area VI) and Area VII

Fisheries Departments today announced details of the catch limits which will apply to appropriately licensed UK registered or British owned fishing vessels over 10 metres overall length from 00.01 hours on Monday, November 1 1999.

The following arrangements apply only to non sector vessels i.e. those over 10 metre vessels not in membership of a Producer Organisation which has been allocated a sectoral quota of the stock in question. Fisheries Departments are arranging for appropriate licence variations to be issued to all vessels concerned.

All limits are per vessel per month unless otherwise stated. Changes in limit from the previous month are shown in bold.

NORTH SEA AND WEST OF SCOTLAND

1. North Sea and West of Scotland Cod - 7 tonnes
of which a maximum in West of Scotland (VIa) of 500 kg

2. North Sea and West of Scotland Haddock - 1.5 tonnes
of which a maximum in West of Scotland (VIa) of 500 kg

3. North Sea and West of Scotland Whiting - 1 tonne
of which a maximum in West of Scotland (VIa) of 750 kg

4. North Sea and West of Scotland Saithe - 1.25 tonnes
of which a maximum in West of Scotland (VIa) of 400 kg

5. North Sea and West of Scotland Nephrops - 4.5 tonnes
of which a maximum in North Sea of 3 tonnes
