Lord Sewel launches NoSWA's water box resources
23/09/1998
Things can only get wetter, Scottish Environment Minister Lord Sewel told Cults Primary schoolchildren today, as he launched North of Scotland Water Authority's 'water box' resource for schools.
After taking part in several scientific experiments carried out by class P7 at the Aberdeenshire school, Lord Sewel said:
"Water is all too often taken for granted - perhaps understandably, given the quantity rained down on us in its raw state, but raw it is nonetheless. These water box experiments demonstrate the complex processes involved and the infrastructure required to deliver good quality drinking water to our homes.
"NOSWA and the local education authorities are to be commended for their efforts in promoting the 'water box'. It is a fine example of co-operation between public sector authorities to deliver a service to the community."
