Advocate Depute Appointed

The Lord Advocate, Lord Hardie has appointed Sean Francis Murphy (40) to be an Advocate Depute with effect from 21 September 1998.
Mr Murphy, who is married, obtained an MA (Hons) at St Andrews University and a LLB and Dip LP at Strathclyde University. He was admitted to the Faculty of Advocates in 1992.
His appointment follows the resignation on 18 September of Robert John Reed QC who resigns from the post to take-up his new appointment as judge. He served as an Advocate Depute for two years and eight months.
