The Review Group acknowledges the Scottish Government response and notes the references made to it in its work.

Review of Teacher Employment in Scotland

The Review was established in January 2011 to consider the current arrangements for teacher employment in Scotland and make recommendations designed to secure improved educational outcomes for our children and young people. The Review, which was chaired by Professor Gerry McCormac, operated independently of Government.

The Review has now completed its work and published its report on Tuesday 13 September 2011.

Evidence / Research Commissioned by the Review

The Review gathered evidence on relevant issues and, as part of this, issued a Call for Evidence. The analysis of the Call for Evidence and other research are attached below.

We were very pleased to receive just under 3400 responses to the Call for Evidence, the vast majority of which came from individual teachers.
