A safer and stronger Scotland for our families and communities will be a more successful Scotland. We want communities to thrive, becoming better places to live and work, contributing to a more economically-cohesive Scotland, higher rates of labour market participation and sustainable economic growth. We will achieve this by improving housing and neighbourhoods, fighting crime, and reducing the fear of crime.
By making our communities safer and stronger for those who live there, we will also increase the attractiveness of Scotland as a place to live and work - drawing in talented new people and investment. This will improve our quality of life, create strong communities that we are proud to be a part of, help to increase Scotland's population and allow us all to fulfil our potential.
Safer and Stronger Outcomes
We aim to deliver a Safer and Stronger Scotland through all 16 national outcomes, with a focus on the following:
- We live our lives safe from crime, disorder and danger
- We live in well-designed, sustainable places where we are able to access the amenities and services we need
- We have strong, resilient and supportive communities where people take responsibility for their own actions and how they affect others
