Purpose

To help the Scottish Government and thereby the wider public sector make decisions based on high quality evidence and analysis to deliver the right outcomes; and to deploy appropriate analytical resources to achieve this.

Key responsibilties

Cross cutting and corporate level support, complementing Analytical Service Divisions' work plans to:

  • increase sustainable economic growth
  • drive outcomes based approach, including through the development of the National Performance Framework
  • provision of an integrated evidence base
  • inform, support, challenge and monitor policy and delivery
  • measure performance in delivering these objectives
