Between 3 June 2006, when the carbon offsetting scheme was introduced, and 31 December 2006 the Scottish Executive had collected £20,970.
The Executive collect £5 per internal flight (single or return), £6 for a European one and £15 for a journey outside Europe. The money came from 3175 /504 / 138 for each type of journey respectively.
The Executive are holding the money collected and are currently considering the ways in which it should be applied to achieve the offsetting objective.
