Every request for information which the Scottish Executive receives is handled in accordance with the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002. In general, requests for information are handled routinely, and are not all recorded or counted centrally. However, in line with centrally produced guidance, some requests for information are notified to the Freedom of Information Unit and recorded centrally.

The Freedom of Information Unit logs a summary of each centrally recorded request, and a summary of the outcome which details if information was either provided, partially provided or fully withheld. The attached list provides a summary of each request for which the Unit were notified of the outcome and where the Unit were notified that the request was granted either in full or in part, up to 13 December 2005. The summary is not an exact replica of the requests received and, in line with Data Protection the list does not include certain personal identifiers.
