PROCUREMENT
Information about central government procurement is currently available from the Scottish Executive Web site at the Procurement Directorate. The following additional information will be available from that site from 1 January 2005 :
(a) External guidance:
- Scottish Procurement Policy Notes (procurement-related advice and information circulated by Scottish Procurement Directorate to the wider Scottish public sector);
- Local Authority Procurement Circulars (procurement-related advice and information circulated by Scottish Procurement Directorate to Scottish local authorities.
(b) From 1 January 2005 we will publish details of "common contracts" - contracts awarded by Scottish Procurement Directorate which are available for general use by Scottish Executive staff and other public bodies, including the date awarded; duration; names of contractor(s); nature of the contract (ie office supplies, financial advice, electricity etc); and estimated value.
FORMAT: Information in (a) will be available electronically and in hard copy. Information in (b) will generally be available electronically, but extracts may be provided in hard copy.
