The Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act (FOISA) and the Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations (EISRs) entitle the public with a legal right to request information from Scottish public authorities. The Scottish Public Information Forum (SPIF) consists of representatives of users of the Act and public authorities, who meet to discuss issues and share experience and good practice. The next meeting will be held in Edinburgh on 11 November 2009.
