Marine Scotland is the lead marine management organisation in Scotland, bringing together the functions of the Fisheries Research Services ( Marine Scotland Science), the Scottish Fisheries Protection Agency ( Marine Scotland Compliance) and the Scottish Government Marine Directorate.
Vision and Role
Marine Scotland's vision is "to have clean, healthy, safe, productive, biologically diverse marine and coastal environments, managed to meet the long-term needs of people and nature" and its role is to encourage all concerned with the marine environment to work together towards agreed priorities, outcomes and objectives:
Marine Scotland also works closely with a number of other people, including industry representatives, other Government Departments and academic institutes.
