There are nearly 200 lawyers in the GLSS, making us one of the biggest legal practices in Scotland.
The six core offices of the GLSS are:
- The Scottish Government Legal Directorate
- the Office of the Solicitor to the Advocate General
- the Office of the Solicitor to the Scottish Parliament
- the Legal Secretariat to the Lord Advocate
- the Legal Secretariat to the Advocate General
- and the Scottish Law Commission
The GLSS offers a varied, stimulating and unique traineeship at the heart of the government. The GLSS recruits around five to six trainees each year. To find out further information about our training contracts, please use the links on the left hand side of this page.
Traineeship posts are advertised in September, on this website and in the national press, for traineeships commencing two years hence. The deadline for submitting applications is 16 October 2009.
