Jane McLeod
Jane McLeod is the Deputy Solicitor to the Scottish Government with responsibility for the Divisions of the Scottish Government Legal Directorate covering Civil and Constitutional Law, Criminal Justice, Police and Fire, Health and Community Care, Employment and Litigation. She is also SGLD's Finance Director. Jane became a government lawyer in 1983 and, after working at the Scottish Law Commission and then in the Scottish Office in Divisions advising on environmental and education law, she joined the Senior Civil Service in 1999. As a Divisional Solicitor, she advised mainly on education, civil and constitutional law and had a further spell at the Scottish Law Commission as chief executive. She became Deputy Solicitor in 2007.
