John Paterson
John joined the Government Legal Service in 1999 having previously worked in both private practice and the public sector. Since joining the office, he has advised on number of areas including local government finance, environment, rural affairs and fisheries, as well as spending 3 years on secondment to the European Commission in Brussels.
John heads the Children, Education, Enterprise and Pensions Division of SGLD. This Division provides advice to DG Education, HM Inspector of Education, Student Awards Agency Scotland and Scottish Public Pensions Agency.
